Purpose

LeatherTrade Hub authority guides are written as practical trade-sourcing resources. Where a guide relies on external factual context about testing, regulation, trade classification, sustainability systems or national industry structure, the platform identifies the source used.

Source preference

We prefer primary law and regulatory publications, standards bodies, government and intergovernmental sources, and recognised leather-industry associations or audit frameworks. Commercial blogs and supplier marketing pages should not be used as the sole source for material factual claims.

How sources are shown

Each authority guide can display a research basis, the date it was researched, a review date and a Sources & further research section explaining why each source was used. Source links support the factual context of the guide; they are not endorsements of individual suppliers.

Review cycle

Authority guides are normally flagged for review every 12 months, or sooner when an important law, standard or market rule changes. The Platform Health and Research Sources screens identify guides that are under-sourced or overdue for review.

Supplier claims

Directory supplier profiles may contain information supplied by the listed business. Research citations on authority guides do not validate a supplier's capacity, certifications, pricing, solvency or contractual performance. Buyers should complete appropriate commercial and technical due diligence.
