How this directory handles account, sourcing, messaging and verification information.

Data controller / site operator: simon moore trading as LeatherTradeHub.

Business address: 75 Grange Lane North, Scunthorpe,DN16 1RQ

Privacy contact: contact@leathertradehub.com

Information we collect

We may process account details, business contact details, supplier profile content, product listings, sourcing requests, private messages, membership and transaction records, support correspondence, and information submitted during verification. Verification can include business documents, photographs and precise location coordinates where a supplier voluntarily completes a live-location check.

Why we use it and our lawful bases

  • Contract: to create and administer accounts, memberships, listings, RFQs, SourceRoom requests and messaging.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate a trustworthy B2B directory, prevent abuse, review supplier claims, secure the service, answer support requests and understand which on-site searches or authority guides lead visitors to supplier profiles.
  • Legal obligation: where records must be retained for tax, accounting, fraud prevention or other legal requirements.
  • Consent: where a separate optional activity specifically requires consent, such as non-essential marketing or tracking introduced by the site operator.

Verification evidence

Private verification files and exact coordinates are stored for authorised review and are not automatically published. Public profiles display the outcome of relevant checks rather than the underlying evidence. Please do not upload sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the requested verification.

Buyer journey reporting

The directory can record the on-site search phrase or authority guide immediately preceding a supplier-profile visit. The built-in report does not store the visitor's user ID, IP address, advertising identifier or Google/Search Console data.

Who information may be shared with

Information may be processed by service providers needed to run the website, hosting, email, security and payment functions. Public supplier-profile information is intentionally published. Private messages and verification evidence are not public. Where WooCommerce or a payment gateway is enabled, payment providers process payment information under their own terms and privacy information.

International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. The site operator must ensure an appropriate transfer mechanism is in place where required and list material processors or destinations here before launch.

Retention

Default platform housekeeping is configured for approximately 24 months for private messages, 12 months for on-site journey records, and 36 months for reviewed verification evidence. Legal, dispute, fraud or accounting requirements may justify a longer period. Supplier accounts and public listing content remain while the account/listing is active unless deletion is requested or another lawful reason requires retention.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, individuals may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of their personal data, and to receive certain information in a portable form. Requests can be sent to contact@leathertradehub.com. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies and device storage

The platform is designed to run without advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the built-in storage used by the directory and for any services the site operator adds later.

Changes

This notice may be updated when the service, suppliers or legal requirements change. The operator should review it before launch and after material platform changes.
